Those with psychotic disorders lose contact with reality and experience a range of extreme symptoms that usually include:
Hallucinations - The individual hears or sees things that are not real, such as hearing voices
Delusions – The individual believes things that are not true, such as the ability to become invisible
These symptoms can occur in people with other health problems, which may include bipolar disorder, dementia, substance abuse disorders, or brain tumors.
